Monument to Nikola Tesla
Author: Fran Kršinić - (Bronze, erected 1956).
The work of sculptor Fran Kršinić, the monument to Nikola Tesla, was cast in bronze in 1956 and is dedicated to scientific achievements and wisdom. Its placement in 1963 in front of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, on King Alexander Boulevard, municipality of Palilula, marks it as a monumental symbol of technological progress.
It is fascinating that this identical composition also exists at Niagara Falls, with its copy on the American side.
The bronze sculpture brings Nikola Tesla’s face and work to life, with a total monument height of 3.35 meters. This monumental depiction of Nikola Tesla with a book in his hands, on a stone pedestal, has become an integral part of Belgrade. Unfortunately, in 2008, the monument suffered vandalism when the brass plaque with Tesla’s name and dates of birth and death was vandalized. As part of the regular maintenance project of public monuments, our team of experts conducted restoration and conservation work, restoring the plaque to its former glory.
