Pobednik monument

Author: Ivan Meštrović - (Bronze - stone, erected in 1928).

Situated on the highest rampart of the Belgrade Fortress, this work by the renowned sculptor Ivan Meštrović from 1928 stands as one of the most striking symbols and visual landmarks of the capital city. It was conceived as a personification of the Serbian army’s victory over the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian empires. The monument belongs to the small number of monumental public sculptures erected between the two World Wars and is characterized by contemporary stylistic aspirations. The male figure cast in bronze is placed on a stone pedestal in the form of a Doric column on a high cubical base. The entire monument stands about 14 meters high, and its silhouette is visible from all sides due to its central location on the Upper Town plateau of Kalemegdan. It was declared an immovable cultural heritage site in 1992.

Our company successfully completed the reconstruction and restoration works on the Monument to the Victor at the Belgrade Fortress in Belgrade, including the construction of the pedestal. Through our intervention, the old splendor of this significant symbol of Belgrade has been restored.
