RAILWAY STATION
The building of the Railway Station, i.e. the former Main Railway Station in Belgrade, is one of the most monumental buildings in Serbia, and one of the main symbols of the city of Belgrade. It was built between 1882 and 1885 according to the conceptual design of the architect Wilhelm von Flatich, which was elaborated by the architect Dragiša Milutinović. It was designed in the spirit of academicism with elements of classicism, and is testimony to the technical and architectural development of Serbia in the 19th century. It is directly connected with the construction of the first Serbian railway line Belgrade-Nis, completed in 1884. The first passengers were King Milan, Queen Natalija and Crown Prince Aleksandar Obrenović, and the train traveled through Zemun to Vienna. The station was closed in 2018, after 134 years of operation, and it is planned to be converted into the History Museum of Serbia.
As part of this significant project, we performed the entire consolidation and restoration of the building's facade, which restored its former glory and emphasized its exceptional historical importance, as one of the main symbols of the city of Belgrade.
