The Church of the Ascension of the Lord
The Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Čurug was built in 1862 and is classified as a cultural monument of exceptional importance within the category of immovable cultural heritage. In order to preserve and enhance the space, works are being carried out on the reconstruction of interior installations and the replacement of flooring.
The works are conducted with the utmost care — the interior furnishings are carefully dismantled, protected, and relocated to a safe area outside the church. This is followed by the removal of the existing floor, excavation, and construction of a reinforced concrete slab, installation of insulation, and a floor heating system. The stone stairs are conservatively treated and returned to their original positions, while the stone paving is executed using new stone. After the completion of the works, the church furnishings are returned and reinstalled.
