Trojica Tower
Trojica Tower, located within the old city core of Kotor, was built between 1441 and 1463, becoming an integral part of the city’s fortifications. Initially named the Tower of St. Nicholas before being renamed after the Holy Trinity, its role was crucial in defending the city from maritime threats. Over time, it underwent various reconstructions and today it attracts visitors with its massive medieval fortification architecture, a square base built of sturdy stone, and exceptional panoramic views. Trojica Tower had a multifunctional purpose, combining defense and residential aspects, and its current form dates back to 1876 when the existing older tower was adapted, and a new artillery battery was built alongside it. It housed quarters for soldiers, as well as communication and observation rooms. The impressive walls and cannon openings testify to its strategic position and role in protecting the city from maritime attacks.
Throughout its long history, Trojica Tower has become a symbol of Kotor’s resilience and historical heritage.
As part of this project, in collaboration with our partners from the Municipality of Kotor, we successfully carried out restoration, reconstruction, and rehabilitation works on Trojica Tower in Kotor, Montenegro.
