Manasija Monastery

Manasija Monastery is an immovable cultural property of exceptional importance and one of the most valuable monuments of medieval Serbia.

The complex was built by Despot Stefan Lazarević at the beginning of the 15th century. Its fortifications form a unique ensemble of sacred and military architecture.

Due to its exceptional historical, architectural, artistic, and cultural value, Manasija Monastery holds a special place in the protection and preservation of Serbia’s cultural heritage.

Conservation and restoration works aimed at the partial reconstruction of the monastery’s walls and towers began in 2026.
