Monument - “Black Horses Were Playing” National Assembly of Serbia

Author: Toma Rosandić - (two compositions - Bronze, erected 1939).

The sculpture titled “Black Horses Were Playing, and with them brave heroes”, created in 1936 and erected in 1938, is cast in bronze and is the work of the renowned sculptor Toma Rosandić, with technical execution attributed to Sava Sandić.

This monumental monument consists of two sculptures placed on the left and right sides of the staircase at the entrance to the National Assembly Building in Belgrade. It is a masterpiece that captivates art lovers with its dynamic composition. The stone pedestal contrasts with the bronze figures of horses, creating a visual balance between natural and industrial elements, symbolizing vitality and freedom.

Our company successfully conducted the restoration and technical-investment maintenance of the ensemble consisting of two sculptures of the composition “Black Horses Were Playing”, lighting, and flagpoles at the main entrance to the National Assembly Building in Belgrade.
