NATIONAL MUSEUM
Founded in 1888, the Zemaljski Muzej (National Museum) in Sarajevo is housed in a building that represents an architectural gem of neorenaissance style with a botanical garden in the central part of the complex. Construction began in 1913 according to the design by Josip Vancaš and Karel Paržik, making it the first purpose-built museum complex in the former Yugoslavia. The façade of the building is characterized by fine ornaments, carved details, and spacious windows. The high roof, arched openings, and prominent vertical elements create a harmonious balance between classical and local architectural elements, while the museum interior exudes grandeur and elegance with its large halls featuring high ceilings, columns, wooden paneling, and refined details providing a perfect environment for the display of valuable artworks and artifacts.
Although it suffered damage during wars and political conflicts, the Zemaljski Muzej managed to preserve its cultural value and historical significance along with an impressive collection of artifacts, artworks, and historical items.
Our company was pleased to contribute to the preservation of the Zemaljski Muzej. Through careful planning and expert approach, we conducted research and preparatory work to ensure a foundation for future projects. Our dedication to the restoration of the façade and other key elements of the museum reflects our desire to support the preservation of this exceptional cultural monument for future generations.
