The building of one of the domestic IT pioneers will be transformed into a multifunctional business environment, retaining elements of brutalism and industrial architecture. When it comes to the IT industry in our country, it is mostly associated with the flourishing of this sector in the last decade. However, discussions about computers, programming, and software were taking place in Novi Sad 40 years ago.

Thus, one of the symbols of Novi Sad’s modernist architecture, the Novkabel building in the Industrial Zone, was designed and built in 1983 as a production and administrative facility for a special program within the cable factory, called “Novkabel electronics, computers, and automation” (ERA). By establishing a new branch of the company and in cooperation with Hungarian Videoton, and later with Italian Olivetti, the first personal computers were produced in what was then SAP Vojvodina – ERA 20 and ERA 40, as well as ET-188 which used IBM components. However, after the turbulent nineties and the thorny process of transition, the tower designed by architect Milorad Milidragović stood empty for years, reminding only by its height of the significance Novkabel had for Novi Sad in urban, economic, and demographic terms.

Our company successfully carried out the reconstruction works of the business building intended for industrial activities in Novi Sad. Our expertise and careful approach ensured a quality transformation of the object, enhancing its functionality and adapting it to the needs of modern industrial requirements.
