Nadežda and Rastko Petrović Memorial Museum

The family house of the Belgrade painter Ljubica Luković, sister of Nadežda and Rastko Petrović, was built in the period from 1928 to 1935 as a typical house of the Professor's Colony, and was declared a cultural monument in 1974.

The family house became a museum and part of the National Museum in 1975, thanks to Ljubica Luković, who bequeathed all her property to the Museum, and the rich legacy of the Petrović family is related to the life and work of Mita Petrović, writer and scientific worker, painter Nadežda Petrović and writer Rastko Petrović, today forms the setting of the museum.

In 1986, the museum was closed to visitors due to inadequate storage and display conditions, and now the first phase of restoration and adaptation works is underway, which includes careful dismantling, static restoration, rough construction works, disconnections of electric power, hydrotechnical and mechanical installations and works on the facade.
