Novo Brdo fortress

The medieval fortress of Novo Brdo, built in the 14th century, dominates the town of the same name in southern Kosovo. With a rich history, the city with its fortifications at its center was a center of mining and trade, attracting various civilizations over the centuries. Its excellent strategic position enabled control of trade routes and valuable resources throughout the ages, and the city was under the rule of Serbian despots, the Ottoman Empire, and other rulers, leaving behind a layered cultural legacy. The fortress consists of the Upper Town in the shape of a hexagon with a citadel and a quadrilateral Donjon tower, and the Lower Town, which fans out towards the western slope. Today, thanks to the efforts of a large team of experts, Novo Brdo Fortress remains a witness to a turbulent past and an extremely important part of the cultural heritage of the Balkans.

We are extremely proud of the successful execution of this extensive project, which included restoration and conservation work on Novo Brdo Fortress.
Our team of experts focused on preserving the authenticity and historical value of Novo Brdo Fortress through precise planning and execution of works, and despite many obstacles, we managed to conserve and restore this precious cultural heritage of the Republic of Serbia.
